Seminary Extension Class on Bible Study and Interpretation,
January 2005, Danli, Honduras
The people in Berea “received the word with great
eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were
so” (Acts 17:11).
We could say the same
thing about the 47 pastors, church leaders and youth in the mission churches
of Alpha and Omega Baptist Church in Danli, Honduras.
The intense
hunger to know the Word of God was evident when the classes were called to
order. Silence dropped over the group of students as they studied the principles
of Bible Study and Interpretation of the Scriptures.
Wil taught eight
hours a day, and then preached each night in either the mother church, or in one
of the missions churches of Alpha and Omega Baptist Church.
The evening
worship services each night were packed, and people were saved.
“This was definitely one of
the greatest weeks of ministry in my life. One that I will never forget.”
There was a great
evidence that the Lord had definitely led us to begin these Seminary
Extension courses in the eastern department of El Paraiso. Pastors along the
border in Nicaragua have shown interest in attending the courses. Also, one
of the Baptist leaders in Tegucigalpa has indicated interest in our teaching
the courses as an entrance level for a new Baptist seminary being developed
in the capital. Please pray for wisdom and the Lord’s guidance.
One of the beautiful things
about the classes was a group of mature teens that asked to attend. They
were as intense in their study as the adults and provided exuberance in the
classes.
Gabe and Mildred
Churchwell helped Ann and Soila prepare over fifty meals each day for the
students and workers. The cooks were definitely happy!

gives you an opportunity to become personally involved in what God is doing
in world missions.
Pray
daily for the work in Honduras.
To reduce costs we will not
build buildings in Honduras, but operate out of existing churches or church
assembly grounds. We have pastors and laymen who are committed to
theological education by extension for rural pastors who will coordinate the
work and provide logistics in Honduras.

Juan
Alberto Herrera Ministry
Alberto has faithfully served 18 years as a contract worker
with mission teams. We believe it is God’s will for him to
serve as a full-time evangelist and pastor. Juan pastors Alpha and Omega Baptist
Church in Danli and is the Director for our Seminary Extension in Honduras.
