That
next day I went to the Las Cascias subdivision in Danli where one of our
students has seven home Bible studies meeting weekly. They do not have a
sufficiently large enough place for everyone to meet together. Again I sensed
the Lord leading me to step out by faith and purchase another piece of
property. By the time I returned home, the Lord had laid it on individual
believers’ hearts in the States to provide through Abide in Christ. In January
the two pieces of property were purchased for Alpha and Omega Baptist Church.

We continued to pray and seek the Lord’s direction for the missions. Each time I preached I asked congregations to pray for two construction teams and two evangelism teams to go and work in Honduras.
In the summer to 2007, the Holy Spirit laid on the heart of two couples to provide the funds for one of the missions. They shared with their pastor the desire of their hearts. On September 9th their pastor called. “Brother Wil, I wanted to let you know that God has led two couples to provide $10,000 to build one of the missions in Honduras.” Then you could hear him holding back the emotions as he cleared his voice. “Furthermore, the deacons in our church said they don’t want to be left out in what they sense God is doing. They voted to ask our church to provide the other $10,000 for the second mission! That was the vote of our church tonight.” Ann and I looked at each other and said, “I saw God do it!”
I
returned to Danli, Honduras, September 15-25 to begin making plans for
construction of the churches, and taught two courses to pastors and church
leaders. I also held services at Las Cascias and Zapotillo and baptized four
men in the penitentiary. I conducted a three day evangelism workshop in Ocotal, Nicaragua.
After returning to the U. S. Ronnie Norris, the team captain for the Arkansas Medical Dental Evangelism team and I were discussing how the Lord was working in the missions. I said we desperately need a medical team to return to Zapotillo and help our evangelism program. The next day we got word that the team could go to Zapotillo in January.
A
couple of days later at the Delta Baptist Association annual meeting, a pastor
asked how we were doing on putting together a construction team. He said his
church has built six churches in Guatemala and that he had men in his church
who would be interested in building the churches. With the current high inflation
in Honduras, we realized we still needed $5000 more for each church.
Sunday, September 14, Juan Alberto and I spoke at two Baptist churches in Mississippi. At a deacon’s meeting at one of the churches where we spoke, they voted to ask the church to raise the $10,000 needed to complete the missions! The other church has men interested in going and constructing the cinder block walls for these two churches.
Pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to move over the hearts of these individuals and churches to bring all of these needs together at His perfect timing.
Praise the Lord with us for His faithfulness and timely provisions.
And thank the Lord for calling upon His people whom He knew would respond to His calling.
The walls will be constructed for the two missions January 1-2, 2008. A medical-dental-evangelism team will minister in Zapotillo January 13-17. Seminary extension students will work at discipleship and follow-up January 19-24, and the Lake Village Baptist Church team will construct the roofs January 28-February 8th.
In 2008 we will need another evangelism team to work in Las Cascias subdivision of Danli. Pray for individuals who have a heart to do personal evangelism and work alongside pastors and church leaders at our evangelism workshops.
There is no telling what the Lord will choose to do through us when we are obedient and available!
What would you do for Christ if you knew you could not fail?
Partnership missions gives you an opportunity to become personally involved in what God is doing in world missions.
