Preach the Gospel
In Season and Out

I

cease to be amazed how God can pack so much of ministry into one week.

Javier, the manager of the cigar factory where we preached and passed out 250 New Testaments last year in Danli, Honduras, took us to his tobacco fields in Trojes, near the Nicaraguan border. We preached in two tobacco drying sheds to over 225 workers. Very few people in these two services have ever heard the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This testimony of God at work in a tobacco field in Trojes, Honduras, in no way suggests we advocate tobacco products. We simply seized the opportunity to share God’s Word.

Workers in a tobacco drying shed in Trojes, Honduras, listen to the Gospel.

“Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name  (Revelation 3:8).

Workers are pictured here listening to the Gospel being preached in Trojes.

Pray for these individuals. We have been invited back to follow up on this ministry. Gabe Churchwell, Pablo, Zoila, Juan Alberta and Javier passed out 250 Spanish New Testaments on this trip.

While I was preaching to over 150 in one of the barns, a TV journalist appeared on the scene. I thought, “O Lord, I don’t need this. Please don’t let this interfere with the preaching of salvation to these people.”

After I finished giving the invitation, he asked to speak to the group. Then the TV journalist gave a clear testimony of his salvation and walk with the Lord!

At lunch in Javier’s parents home, Javier turned on the local radio station for the news and this same news reporter was telling about our ministry to the tobacco fields. Then he played the entire sermon at the end of the noon news broadcast! The TV station broadcasted the video unedited in the evening news broadcast. Praise the Lord for another open door. God did it. The “editorial” before and after the broadcast was positive and encouraged the listeners to listen carefully to the message.

Then Javier invited me to speak to his family and encourage them in the Word. He gave each of them a New Testament.  As I shared with them my experiences in Ecuador, Javier’s father exclaimed: “We have listened to the missionary radio station HCJB, the Voice of the Andes every day for many, many years here in our home.” Everywhere I go I still follow-up on our radio ministry years ago in Ecuador.

Gabe Churchwell, Pablo, Zoila, Juan Alberto and I distributed New Testaments in a school.
