"We must do something!

Lengthen the cords! Strengthen the stakes!

Expect great things from God! Attempt great things for God!

“Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it . . . . He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: 'I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut . . .'” (Psalm 127:1; Rev. 3:7-8).

lpha and Omega Baptist Church in Danli, Honduras, has eight missions and preaching points. They had watched God provide buildings for their missions. Now because of growth they were in the need of an educational building.

Abide in Christ asked the church to pray for the Lord to provide the funds and a construction team. A member of a Baptist church in Arkansas sensed the leading of the Lord and provided these funds. Alpha and Omega built the block walls and had the building ready for a team from Lake Village Baptist Church in Arkansas to build the metal roof for the building. This experienced team also constructed the metal roofs in 2008 for the Las Acacias and Zapotillo Baptist Missions.

The construction team was also involved in evangelistic services each night in the mother church and her missions.

Former Mormon that Noami led to Christ

Juan Alberto's wife Noami has led several Mormons to Christ in recent months. One Mormon missionary became so angry with her witness that he jumped up, took his Book of Mormon, and tapped her on the head and said, "I condemn you and these Baptists to eternal hell!" She thanked him and said, "Now I know that the Gospel my husband is preaching is true to the Word of God."

At the same time Zapotillo Baptist Mission was in the need of a home for their pastor. Pastor Evelio Garcia's family lived several hours away in another town. He was staying in a two room mud house on the church property. Now the family is together living in the new house.

Juan Alberto started a new preaching point in the home of Delphi, a business woman who lives in Quebrada Larga about thirty minutes from Danli. She listened to Alpha and Omega radio program and asked Juan to come and hold worship services in her home and preach the gospel to her neighbors. Pray for weekly services on Wednesday nights.

what you can do

Partnership missions gives you an opportunity to become personally involved in what God is doing in world missions.

Pray daily for the work in Honduras.

q       Pastor and Church Leadership Training Ministry in Honduras.

q                   Pray for three evangelism saturation teams to do door-to-door evangelism and rallies at night.

q                   We have prepared one-day Evangelism Workshops for churches in Latin America.  These are patterned after the personal evangelism course we teach pastors and church leaders, but are shorter.  This course has proven to be very practical and effective in personal evangelism. It was first used in Ecuador and Honduras.  The vision for training rural pastors began with this course in mind while serving as a missionary in Honduras.

q       Juan Alberto Herrera Ministry Alberto has faithfully served 18 years as a contract worker with mission teams. We agree with him that it is God’s will for him to serve as a full-time evangelist and pastor.  Juan pastors a Honduran Baptist Convention church in Danli. He is our Director for Pastor and Church Leadership Training in Honduras.

Juan Alberto Herrera is an evangelist and pastor of Alpha and Omega Baptist Church.
