Preaching the Gospel
in New Mission Outreach

A

s we make ourselves available to the Lord, He invites us to join Him in what He is doing. He opens doors where He is at work and empowers us to be His witnesses.

Our courses are preparing Enrique and Miriam for outreach in a new mission near Danli, Honduras.

“To me, the very lest of all saints, this grace was given to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ  (Ephesians 3:8).

In the course on Bible Doctrine, I placed the emphasis on God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and salvation. The students will spend the next three months studying their textbooks and working through several hundred passages of Scripture.

Hendrique and his wife Miriam called me aside to share with me that God has called him to preach the gospel and pastor a new mission begun by the church where they are members. They have been using the materials form our course in their Sunday School classes and home Bible studies.

The church started a new mission about ten miles away and the pastor told Hendrique that he church would like him to be the pastor of this new group. The Lord has been preparing them through our courses to start this new ministry.

Another student Julia recently showed us her backyard where she has fifty chairs under a ten roof where she teaches children Bible studies each week. She has purchased materials to add a patio covered roof on the front of her house to make it possible to have more room for students and start having classes for young people.

Three of our students with music ability have received new guitars to use in their mission thanks to Gabe and Mildred Churchwell. Gabe also led the classes in favorite hymns.

I printed up a four-page brochure on Mormon teaching in contrast to Biblical Christianity. Alpha and Omega Baptist Church passed out over 500 of these in their sub division where there is also located a Mormon church. Pastors and church leaders from other missions in our classes are also using them in their missions. The Mormons are building a Temple in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, this year.

Back in Danli I had the privilege of baptizing five new believers in the nearby river. Two young men who were watching the baptism were led to Christ by Blanca, a member of New Life Baptist Mission.

Blanca and her family have started a new Baptist mission in the suburb where they live in Danli.
